Properties of a Wave

What is it?

A wavelength is the distance between adjacent crests measured in meters.

One of the many methods astronomers use to find the distance that stars away from the earth is the parsec distance.

A medium is a substance or material which caries the wave.

Different types of waves: Sounds Waves, Visible light waves, radio waves, micro waves, water waves, sine waves, cosine waves, telephone/cord waves, stadium waves, earthquake waves, waves on a string, and slinky waves.

Waves are important to astronomy because it measures how far away stars are and find the path of the stars so they can predict if there will be a collision.
